From One Person Wearing Every Hat to a Team Built for the Details
Midwest Construction & Remodeling began in 2014 with Oleg working largely on his own. In those early years, he handled nearly every part of the business—from meeting homeowners and preparing estimates to planning projects, coordinating work, and solving problems in the field.
Before starting MWCR, Oleg worked in interior remodeling, specializing in custom kitchens and bathrooms. That work required patience, creativity, and careful attention to small details. Those same standards became part of MWCR’s foundation and continue to influence how we approach exterior projects today.
Building the company was not simple. Some of the biggest early challenges were creating dependable systems, finding the right employees and trade partners, and learning how to grow without losing control over quality or the customer experience.
MWCR originally completed a relatively even mix of interior and exterior remodeling. Around 2020 and 2021, the company made a deliberate decision to focus entirely on exterior work.
The change gave MWCR a clearer identity, allowed the team to develop more consistent processes, and created opportunities to take on larger and more complete projects. It was also a better fit for the company’s strengths and the growing demand from Minnesota homeowners.
Today, MWCR specializes in roofing, siding, windows, gutters, and composite and PVC decks—but the attention to detail developed during those early custom remodeling projects remains part of everything we do.
Meet Oleg and Ilya
Oleg and Ilya originally met through church and their local community. As MWCR continued growing, Oleg invited Ilya to join the company in 2021 and help build the structure needed for its next stage.
As founder and owner, Oleg leads the overall direction of MWCR. He is entrepreneurial, growth-minded, and highly involved in the customer experience. His background in detailed interior remodeling also gives him a strong eye for design and a creative approach to solving difficult construction problems.
Oleg believes homeowners deserve direct answers—even when the answer is not necessarily what they expected to hear. That honesty, combined with careful planning and a willingness to think through unusual project conditions, continues to shape how MWCR approaches sales and project design.
Ilya serves as MWCR’s Production Manager. Before joining the company, he developed hands-on carpentry experience and used CAD software to design homes. That combination of field knowledge and technical design experience helps him see both the overall construction plan and the small details required to make it work.
Today, Ilya coordinates scheduling, materials, crews, and trade partners. He also assists with CAD drawings, project details, quality control, jobsite problem-solving, and homeowner communication during construction. His calm, organized approach helps keep complex projects moving forward.
Oleg and Ilya bring different personalities and strengths to MWCR, but they share the same commitment to doing honest work, caring about the details, and standing behind what the company promises.
Both are husbands and fathers, and they understand that a remodeling project affects more than a building—it affects the daily life of the family living there.
